I 100% agree with this, but why has the Left not tried to counter in any way?

Or is it finally starting to?

I think the Conservative party has two distinct and notable advantages, the fact that it has huge media influence and that it is significantly better funded than Labour.

It's a tough one for Labour, do they join the race to the bottom or do they try and do it with a degree of integrity?

Don't get me wrong, I recognise Labour has positioned itself as the moderate left and does its best to appeal to the middle England Tory voters, so it's playing the politics games of course.

Labour has traditionally had the 'advantage' of being a party that represents the working classes, of which there are far more people than any other class. So the real question is why now do only the Tories currently seem to recognise that the working classes want simplified, uncomplicated information (and don't seem to even care how verifiable it is)?

Don't think it's only the "working classes" who are triggered by soundbites and headlines and I'm not sure there is still the traditional class system either - or society is more fragmented and multi layered these days.
