I meant what I said there SmallTown. I've been deputised. Borolad gave me a shiny badge and everything so I'm a junior mod now and I won't take any crap from anyone. I am only an apprentice mod for the moment though. That means that I can't ban people but I can cause whichever device that they're using to make a really loud and embarrassing farty noise every time they post if they've been a bit naughty on here. Swordtrombonefish showed me how to do that. He's really good with computers.

It wasn't me mate if that was some kind of an accusation. You tried to make my toaster kill me yesterday on here. Why do you suddenly have it in for me? I thought that we were friends?

Is this a new thing, maybe a social media thing? I've noticed it seem to be happening a lot lately. People disagree and one person (in this case @Same_as_before ) then claims the other person believes something that is contrary to what they actually believe in order to "win" the argument.

When did that start? I can never remember it when I have had face to face discussions so I wonder if it's a social media thing? It's quite a low form of discourse really. You disagree with someone. Instead of arguing against the point, you claim the other person is saying something they aren't in red to make them look bad. I don't get it? Is it a new technique?

Let's not dredge this up again fella. You know that I like you as a poster but can't we just all try to be nice to one another like that Derby bloke said on the other thread? I really don't want to have to make your laptop make farty noises at you but I have duties to carry out on here now and I may be left with no choice if you carry on like this.
 
ST does have a point, it's happened to me, somebody making stuff up about me in an argument to make some kind of winning point

It's frustrating and annoying etc but what can you do?

Just point out the facts, hit the 'ignore' button and move on

Happened to me plenty of times. I don't let it get to me. It is just a message board. I'm going to keep repeating that until some of the more uptight posters on here actually listen to me. But we really ought to try to be nicer to one another. I agree about that.

You are right of course. I just tend to try and swoop in and make a few daft jokes when I see threads getting a bit nasty on here. Doesn't always work but I do my best. I'm not really a mod on here by the way. But I really do feel like banging a few heads together sometimes.

Got to sat I'm with you here, I don't do social media or anything but posting on here has become a big part of my day, all boro fans in one place. It definitely is more than just a message board.

I'd agree with that up to a point and I hate to see bullying on here and that's why I tried to turn BL'S thread in to a Nick Cave thread for a bit the other day. I hate seeing pile-ons on here. I've found myself defending both Smalltown and Nobby on the same thread at times and those two seem to hate each other. And I've been accused of being both of them. Water off a duck's back to me. But I do appreciate that other people may feel differently about that.
