Propose a Tav replacement

Whoever the club look to bring in I think it will be a player who is athletic, mobile and robust - not sure if many suggestions fit that profile, certainly not Bowler, O'Hare or Chair.

Callum Styles seems the best match, but I think we'll maybe look outside the Championship.

My first choice would probably be Callum Styles from Barnsley (Maybe put a £2m bid in?).
22 years old, Hungarian international, used to be a LM but played in the CM role last season - Can also play RM and possibly CDM.

I like O'Hare, Willock, Bowler, etc... but I think Callum Styles is the closest "like for like" replacement in terms of attributes.

Total wildcard, and he's definitely not as good as Tavernier... But I think we should throw £1 million in for Paddy Lane from Fleetwood too.
He's 21, played for Northern Ireland U21s with Boyd-Munce, and he was league 1 young player of the year last season.
He had 13 goal contributions in 37 games for a team which nearly got relegated. He can also play CDM.

We could also use the money we've got to build a younger squad for future seasons...
CB - Ronnie Edwards from Peterborough (19)
RWB - Alex Scott from Bristol City (18)
LB/CB - Shadrach Ogie from Leyton Orient (20)
CM/CDM - Jordan James from Birmingham (18)
CM/CAM - Finn Azaz from Plymouth (21)

Loads of championships clubs do it every season, and have done it this summer.
Huddersfield just signed Jack Rudoni from Wimbledon for 800k.
Agree with this. Callum Styles looks an ideal replacement.

Alex Scott is a great shout also. Looks like he’ll be a proper player. Was surprised to learn how young he is.

Riley Mcgree is the replacement, club won't sign anyone else, we will get another 1/2 risky strikers with xg ability like 'feed the forss'
I was thiinking that too, but Wilder stated yesterday that Tav will need replacing. Mcgree is more a number 10 than a left sided number 8 for me. Given Wilder’s love for round pegs in round holes, he will want that replacement to ideally be left footed too I’d have thought, especially as Giles will be pushing forward and the defensive side of his game needs a bit of work still, so a left footer is vital in there, ideally.

Some good suggestions earlier, but Garner, Styles and O’Hare are all right footed I think, O’Hare too expensive anyway, but all 3 could be a good replacement for the right side CM role. Garner could cover Howson too, but wont be cheap even on a loan if Utd were prepared to release him again. Fingers crossed we can still bring in a LCM, RCM 2x ST and a LCB and we’re good to go.

Completely agree about the left footer, can’t see Wilder going for O’Hare for that reason. So either, Callum Styles or Matt Grimes for me. If I was being greedy I’d take both! Styles can also cover Giles and Grimes could also cover Howson.

Matt Grimes has a good left peg on him I must agree. Class player at this level, but from what I’ve seen he seems a bit deep lying, similar to Howson. Good player though. I’d love O’Hare as a top choice, but I doubt Wilder would want a right footed on the left of the midfield 3…

Grimes - very good shout👍

Would Swansea let him go? He's a very good player but signed a new contract last season so will possibly/probably cost a few quid.

Only drawback (being pedantic) is he doesn't create / score many.

Absolutely no chance will the club go into a full season with only 3 senior central midfielders. I think we will sign 2

I definitely feel CW wanted Payero out before Tav moved, which despite only happening recently must of been on the cards for a while. It Tav had gone before Payeros loan then he would have been under big pressure to play him,
