Proof vaping is bad for you - Paul Danan dead at 46 years old

Very sad when someone dies so young but equally sad that people are using his death to push an agenda that seems to have zero proof of any connection with his death It's all over Twitter that vaping killed him, from what I can see it's just bots and gullible people reposting

He literally blamed vaping for his collapse last year

When you read further he was hospitalised previously with pneumonia due to excessive vaping and was told his lungs were knackered then. That’s where people are getting the connection from.

What people say in an interview and what is actually the case are often different, especially if they have a history of addiction! I don't Vape and don't doubt it isn't great for you but as far as I am aware there has not been any evidence that it can kill a normal healthy person ..... yet!

There is some evidence coming from the USA of children becoming very ill from vaping. However their legislation on vape juice and what can be used in it, as well as the nicotine content is very different to the uk.

It amazes me that these things were allowed to become so prolific without any long term study into benefits and risks.
Theres long time studies that show normal cigarettes, alcohol, sugar, lack of exercise, pizzas etc etc cause premature death and reduce longevity, does it stop people from consuming them?

In other words, when people actually know, 100% the **** they consume will probably kill them earlier than statistically inevitable, they still consume anyway

So if long term studies came out that say vape is worse than not vape , which we probbaly know already, what possible difference would it make

They’re already accepted into greater society, the point I think that was being made is introducing new potentially dangerous things into society, without proper scientific study shouldn’t be allowed

It's unlikely that deeply inhaling a cocktail of chemicals on a regular basis is anything other than harmful, we just don't know how harmful. Yet.

It is beyond doubt that it is less harmful than tobacco though.

The tax on them would be far higher.

Tax is increasing on them in this parliament I think however the cynic in me suggests that's down to their increasing popularity as much as anything else.

Plenty seem convinced it’s perfectly healthy unfortunately. Expect we will see in the next 20 years just how unhealthy they actually are
They have been around in the uk for 25 years now. There is plenty of evidence available. They are not particularly bad for you, according to all available evidence.

As an alternative to smoking, they are a boon. Unfortunately, they are encouraging kids to take up the habit.

Can't see any evidence whatsoever he was killed by Vaping

He might have had some orange juice on the day he died, it might have been that

Causation and correlation, 2 entirely different things
He was told he would need oxygen if he didn’t stop and was admitted to ICU in July, caused by vaping

Headlines on bbc referred to vaping and death.

Probably pnuemothorax, it's been linked with e cigarettes but there isn't a huge amount of evidence to support this. Spontaneous pnuemothorax has been around for decades.

The radionuclide (Polonium-210) that killed Litvinenko is found in cigarettes. That’s not stopped millions of people smoking them. The only effective tool that reduced their use has been high taxation.

I can’t see people stopping vaping when it inevitably comes out that they’re no good for human consumption.

As an alternative to smoking yes it’s better, but it still has risks and isn’t 100% safe, and likely will end up causing some issues further down the line.
