Priority points recalculation

Our two tickets are 155 after a rarely getting to away games in the last few seasons due to Wedding / Newborn etc.

When I have went to away games it’s usually been jumping on spare tickets already bought by others.

Definitely looking to build more points this season but will have to target the less popular games when they land. Typical Derby / Sunderland are in the first two months but l’ll have ways and means with other mates who have been gaming the system for years. If you can’t beat them, join them and all that, but it’ll do nothing for my own points! (It’s a vicious cycle)

I've got 188 now. As ever I went to way more away games than I planned last season.

Even this season because I had a Premier Inn booking to move I'm going to bloody Cardiff away so I didn't lose the cost of the booking. Madness.

This feels a bit like when I go to the amusements and try and choose a prize. I only have 3 points. What do I win?

And here we have the real problem with priority points - rampant abuse of the system for personal gain and sod everybody else

I totally agree and have said it numerous times in the past. I’m now obviously in no man’s land as far as points go at the moment but hopefully by the end of the season I’ll be af least in with a decent total but it means I’ll be having to travel to some of the games further afield as the local ones will have a high points threshold you’d imagine. Prior to my missus having the baby I was going to around 60-70% of away games Pre-Covid.

A number of times last season my mates offered to sort my tickets on other cards for the high demand but I turned them down. Sunderland being one. As much as I wanted to go, I felt bad considering I’d only been to 2-3 away games in the past 12 months. As it was, those tickets were stil bought and taken by lads who didn’t even have ST’s.

I don’t know what the solution is for people gaming the system though. I want to build my points, but I also want to get back to regularly attending away matches so for the games with high points thresholds, I have limited options until I build up the points.

It’s not ideal but I’ve yet to hear a perfect solution as I’m sure one exists.

Cardiff @ 1230 will not sell out unless we get a smaller allocation than usual.

It is an issue but you can’t blame people for exploiting the system when the club does nothing to prevent it. I’d like to at least see some effort or a threat to prevent future purchases of tickets for anyone found to be reselling outside of official channels.

It’s still very possible to pick up points as a season ticket holder as games rarely sell out before they go on general sale.

Yeah, there’s more than enough opportunity - certainly has been in recent seasons. Obviously if we are having a tilt at promotion more games will sell out before general sale too.

I’m comfortable with it either way. I’ll get to a decent number of away games and build points this year.
