Prince Andrew to be sued

I know we aren’t discussing a young man who was unlawfully killed, but his killer is hiding behind the same judicial policies you want Andrew dealt with. I personally think it acceptable to ask for this trade. Let’s face it, neither are going to do the time they both deserve, which you will agree is wrong.
They will be lots of similar cases, but this thread is about how we allow this family to do as they please whilst grovelling and bowing to them.
We talk about leveling up , all lives being of equal worth then we fawn over this pantomime which belongs in the history books.

I'm not sure that's strictly correct. He's not been criminally charged has he? She was charged by the CPS.
No he hasn’t been charged, but it is only his Royal status that’s prevented him being charged; And like Boromart rightly points out, if it was a working class lad, he would have been on the first plane to the US.

I wouldn’t argue that they aren’t similar cases, but these two are abusing their countries power to avoid justice.

Regarding levelling up, I am sure you read Animal Farm as a teenager. It will never happen.

This ain’t going away - someone won’t be getting a Christmas card from the house of Windsor

You wouldn't expect her to say anything different in public right now, but it's just words. But when she gets the options of being removed from post and a sacking manufactured costing her a hefty pension for prosecuting Andrew, OR get honours and favour if she finds a way to make the charges disappear, we all know which way she will flip.

This is how those with power and influence work.

I am not myself comfortable with defending him (we both agree there), but at the same time we cannot allow people to abuse the diplomatic system to escape prosecution. That is what she did and Andrew is using his Royal status to do the same.
agreed, but two wrongs don't make a right. She should be brought here, and he should go over there. If we must compare her incident was an accident/stupidity, his was callous and evil. But we should be able to talk about him on his own, he should be extradited for trial regardless of 100s of others that don't. We shouldn't be prepared to offer him protection until they hand someone over. On top of that, if he was some lad from a council estate he'd already have been extradited.

different levels of levelling up, it''s not levelled up and not level, there is a scale between the extremes. Having a family that have uncontrolled access to law making, the PM and ministers, while also being lavishly funded and having freedom from many of the laws that apply to you and I is the epitome of the extreme end of NOT levelling up. That should absolutely be one of the starting point of reducing the powers of elitist and levelling up society. Start by ensuring that all royals are subject to exactly the same laws as any other human in this country.

Boromart, you can see from your post your an intelligent person, but do you really believe he will face justice? He should, but I honestly can’t see it.

I hope I am wrong.

I could hear my grandad Billy’s voice when I read that. 🤣🤣🤣

No I don't believe he will face justice, that's my point earlier, a way will be found to ensure he never sets foot in a court, never has to respond to a formal charge. He may be invited with a team of the best lawyers this country has to respond to allegations to some nice friendly policemen. Those policemen will be offered a CBE for asking nice questions and not probabing too hard.

They are beyond the law.....but we should make damned sure that it taints this insipid and corrupt institution for ever.

The Royals will bounce back from it. One of them will get married, have another child or the queen may even abdicate, the press will tell everyone how good they are and all will be well again in the Royal household.

Elements of The Divine Right of Kings, and their spawn, seem to remain in place. “Yea, unto the Middle Ages “ (a very British coup)

Apart one was an accident and unintentional if avoidable, the other was a disgusting old bloke who did what he wanted, allegedly.

It is not an accident. They drove on the wrong side of the road, killed someone & then fled the country under the false pretence of having diplomatic immunity to avoid prosecution.
they drove on the wrong side of the road, correct, that's either idiocy or drunk. Whatever it was, I doubt it was a conscious decision to drive on the wrong side, knowing it's the wrong side with the intent to kill someone. Andrew didn't carelessly fall into Miss Guffre with his pants down, he chose to do it knowing it was utterly wrong.

No it was an accident, as I said it was avoidable, I agree with the rest of your points.
agreed, probably a criminal negligent accident or criminally irresponsible (if she was drunk), but I doubt it was her intent to do it, unlike Andrew who absolutely intended to put his penis inside an underage sex slave
