Preston Manager .. Gone

WHAT! 1 game? I remember when we used to laugh at how trigger happy the italian and spanish teams were, sacking people in the first 10 games regularly......we're just as bad now

Had a feeling he would be one of the first to go.

Didn’t have a great relationship with the fans and been on the slide for a while now, lost two of their best players in the summer including the captain.

Seen some of their fans suggesting David Moyes 🤣

Moyes will surely be looking higher than Preston. Is Peter Risdale still involved at PNE? Reckon they’ll go the trendy young German route….a mate of Danny Rohls perhaps!

My best mates are PNE season ticket holders so we've talked about this often.

He had a dreadful relationship with Preston fans. Midway through last season he didn't take some criticism from them very well and basically said they didn't know what they were talking about as they don't have coaching badges. It was only a matter of time since then.

Fell out with Alan Browne. Played their best player Liam Miller at wing back instead of further forward.

You can say they only have a small budget etc but their football was dire and they have shown zero improvement. Not scored for 7 games. They looked dreadful on Friday. And he was mouthing off at the fans going down the tunnel.

He should have gone at the end of the season, but it's been coming for a very long time.

They were dreadful whenever I saw them last season. Even games they won they were generally poor and tended to scrape a result through some huge fortuitous slice of luck. seems that luck ran out against sheff utd!

Seems pretty much like a mutual decision. Taken them as far as he could. Not much money for new players, struggled at the end of last season. Not surprising really. A few championship teams are in a similar position.

We play them at home just after the international break so likely they will have a new manager in place for the game against us - new manager bounce 🤦🏻‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Interesting to know that… from the outside it’s looks a crazy decision, but long in the making by the sounds of it

Wow - On Friday his team probably cost 25% of the Sheff United team in wages and maybe 10% on transfer fee. Lowe got Preston mid table which was certainly respectable.
They started really well last season but lost their last five. If you were going to make a change you wouldn't be waiting until now though

Only weird thing is how long it took them to sack him, they've been stinking out the joint for months.

Unless I'm wrong, I think they means that after Mark Robins, Michael Carrick is now the longest serving manager in the Championship.

Son is a season ticket holder. Absolutely nobody at Deepdale is going to be anything other than delighted at this news. Only downside is that once again Ridsdales **** poor management of the situation is exposed as Browne and Miller would likely have stayed if they had moved him on when they should have

is Alex Neil off the cards? thought he's done alright for them?

Jan Siewert might fancy another crack at the championship? didn't fare too well with Huddersfield tho. Timo Schultz might be the one to lead the gentry into kult klub status!
