Preston game

They are woeful at home and a very injuries and suspensions. It's very much like the Blackburn game.

I think in theory we are 'getting them at the right time'. I think the next 5-6 fixtures are against teams bellow us.

I fancy this score tonight too
PNE concede for fun and we really should be getting more than 2 but with our misfiring front line 2 will do me. One thing we mustn't do is go all cavalier, Preston can score a goal or two themselves they have scored 5 in their last 2 games.

For me, keep it tight and accept a 0-2

Cmon Boro, don't mind what the score is but 3 points are crucial tonight, would see handily placed again.
League is so unbelievably tight, anyone that strings a few wins on the bounce will be well placed.
Could that be us? Let's hope so.
C'mon Boro keep us boys happy.

I posted this on the oneboro site, thought I would share it on here (y)

The Preston game will be the 54th game between both teams at their ground, with the following record:-

Won 19
Drew 13
Lost 20
Goals for 73
Goals against 74

It couldn't be so close👍

My 1st Boro away game was v Preston 11th November 1972, we won 1-0 courtesy of a John Hickton goal, his 3rd of the season

They played for Boro & Preston

Hugh Mcllmoyle played 80 games between 1969-71 scoring 22 goals & sold to Preston in 1971
Micky Burns, born in Preston, signed as a youth but never played a 1st team game, signed for Boro in 1978 till 1981 & scored a remarkable 24 goals in 67 games
Gary Parkinson, Boro legend of 86 played 202 games between 86 - 93 scoring 5 goals, he later signed for Preston
Mick Baxter signed from Preston in 1981 for £400k by Bobby Murdoch, he went on to play 138 games, scoring 8 goals & in 1984 he rejected a new contract & signed for Pompey
Alf Common, at one time the most expensive signing in world football when in 1905 we paid Sunderland £1k for his signature, he went on to play 178 games, scoring 65 goals, a few clubs later he signed for Preston, where he finished his career
Nobby Stiles, played 69 goals for Boro between 1971-73, scoring 2 goals, big Jack sold Nobby to his brother Bobby at Preston for £20k
Dave Nugent, signed for the Boro in 2015-17, playing 42 games, scoring 8 goals, he later had 2 seperate spells at Preston
Kelham O'Hanlon goalkeeper started at the Boro & between 1982-85 played 97 games, later had 2 seperate spells at Preston
One of the silliest loan signings was Sean St Ledger who agreed to sign for Preston for an initial 3 months then sign permanent for £4m, but after a couple of goals & a few matches decided he didn't want to stay & wanted to go back to Preston, which he did, strange
Joran Hughill played for both teams
Goalkeepers Carlo Nash & Lonergan played for both teams while at the Riverside

Did you know Facts:-

The 1st Boro player to be sent off in the FAC was Jimmy Watson a LB, who received his marching orders at Preston on the 16th January 1909, we lost 1-0

Our 1st ever sub was away to Preston when Bryan 'Taffy' Orritt replaced Neville Chapman (No2) on the 11th September 1965, back then subs could only be allowed for injured players, not tactical

Our 1st cash signing after liquidation was Paul Kerr for £50k, made his debut at home to Preston in the 3rd round of the FAC, on the 10th January 1987, unfortunately we lost 1-0

I think you're right. Just need to find a cutting edge or one occasion as that is the only thing that stopped us taking a deserved 3 points at Ewood Park.
