Press Conference Today

He seemed very relaxed which I like. He seems to have a very unique approach to management and relationship with players. It clearly works but I don't think I've heard a coach quite like him.

It makes it all the more amazing we got him. Based on everything I have seen he is clearly headed towards being absolutely top draw boss. It would be lovely if he could be like a Jack Charlton for us. Or a Bruce Rioch. If he wants to he could end up being one of those people who is forever associated with us and who Boro fans down the generations refer to as being defining leaders of our club.

I have a distant / sort of connection to Hayden and said to someone I know that I could see Carrick taking him wherever he goes in the future. I was told he won't leave, he only wants to play for the Boro.
 
I'm so sick of them asking about SAF all the bloody time. The gaffer is his own man, yes he learnt from him, yes they still speak, he probably gives them advice, hell he'll probably be at Wembley if we make it. But he doesn't need to be asked the same questions every 7 days. Its gotten old real quick

It’s quite embarrassing to think that these so called Journalists don’t have anything more to say other than references to “Alex”

I liked that he sort of shut it down this time as if to say come on can we stop with this now
 
Next time he is ever asked about it, he should just pull a hairdryer from under the desk and point it at the journo.
 
The presenter on SSN earlier this evening started off the segment about this press conference by saying Carrick didn’t include Fergie in his list of influential people. That was the takeaway headline.

Yes, the interesting part for me is the shape that we currently play and the input Jonathan Woodgate has had on that shape. I noticed yesterday something which Woodgate tried to implement early doors and he couldn’t quite get he consistency with it.

This is a very much improved idea on that core and reinforced by the.. well, the secret ingredient that those watching and understanding will know and recognise.

Brilliant!

Not a chance it comes up in the pressers lol
