Press Conference 2pm

Maybe this is payback from the EFL for Gibson suing them over the Derby debacle.

I say this tongue in cheek of course, but when there is such blatant and obvious inconsistency then it does lead to wild speculation.

Surely a number of currently available players can say they have symptoms in the morning and will need to therefore get a test, and will have to isolate until they receive their result, meaning we won’t have 14 players available.

There are already a number of players with symptoms currently isolating in Sheffield, if they don't test positive(not sure if they're even doing another test now as you can't test matchdays) then they'll play tomorrow.

But the EFL have banned match day testing, which assumes they will not accept further Covid cases as a reason.

The EFL's medical advisors have agreed testing on the day of the game only needs to happen if a player is showing symptoms of Covid. They have not banned testing just not compulsory for of the match day squad.

Bugggeration for those looking forward to the game or with tickets that might not be able to make a rearranged game but it seems sensible given the reported extent of the outbreak.
