Power flush - central heating

A couple of radiators are playing up, one has stopped working and a couple get warm at the top but cooler on the bottom.. Reading around suggests the system might need a power flush. Has anyone had this done and did it make a difference?

Had it done just before new boiler fitted.
Didn't cost much but hard to measure the impact given the change from an ancient boiler to a new combi. A lot of gunge came out, so it can't be a bad thing.

We did it in an old system and it improved the heat output across the house significantly. Loads of crap came out too. There were no specific radiator problems though the house just didnt seem to heat well or evenly.

We had it done and it looked worth it on the face of it, what came out was pretty filthy. I think it improved things, but as above it was hard to quantify as we made a few changes at the same time.

Think I will get it done. Boiler only 6 months old and probably should have got it done before in hindsight. I imagine its just a case of phoning a heating engineer?

Used these in the past, very good and very competitively priced....if your local that is

Boiler should have a mag filter on it aswell does it?

They should have drained the full system and flushed it before fitting a new one anyways.

I imagine they drained the system down when they put your new boiler in, How did the water look? If it was bad i would of thought they would of advised to flush it there and then. what colour is the water when you fully open the bleed valves?
