"Postponing elections is not a very good thing," Mr Trump said. "I think postponing is unnecessary."
He suggested elections could be held safely by "spreading people out".
“They have lots of room in lots of electoral places,” Mr Trump said.

what a clown!!!!

No I think it’s more the realisation of how spectacular his poor leadership has been over this I think Biden will wipe the floor with him.

Even his hard core are now starting to ask serious questions about this democrats hoax so-called virus.

I stumbled on Alexandria Ocasio Cortez's Twitter feed the other day and she had asked people to start practicing social distancing. She got the standard insults, the "I will do what the hell I like" replies and quite a few accusations of being part of the conspiracy to bring down Trump.
Then Anthony Fauci, the man leading the science behind the WH response said the same thing. How that went down with people will be the real test.
The problem Trump has is that his natural tendency to try and deflect any and all criticism of himself meant he massively underplayed the extent of the scope of this virus and tried to make it a foreign assault in the US.
Now that he simply can't bluff or lie his way out of it he's in the unique position of being held accountable for something that he can't avoid or make go away.
Just watching his briefings and you can see he takes every opportunity to avoid scrutiny and get someone else in front of the mic. He is possibly the worst person in the world to lead a fight against an existential threat like this as he is just about as selfish as I can imagine anyone being.

The more I see and hear the more I fear the US will be hit the hardest by this, due to a combination of ineffective and muddles leadership and the many of the population being in denial about it.

There is no federal leadership on this. Fortunately some of the States are doing their bit. NY, NJ and CT have closed all bars, restaurants and gyms and are encouraging work-from-home for everyone who can.

Alexandria Ocasio Cortez is a future President in the making, isn't she?

How can they hold those large primary conventions? Will everyone stay at home, watch a tv and vote on an app?

Don't count on it Wilf.
He's just announced he's starting his rally tour in Tulsa, scene of one of the worst incidences of racial violence in US history when Black Wall Street was razed to the ground and over 300 black people were murdered. To just add to the insult, he's holding the rally on the 19th, a date celebrated by African Americans as the end of slavery, the day the proclamation of emancipation was first read.
He's not even trying to hide his racism behind any sort of veil and it would not surprise me at all if he tried to escalate these protests into ever more violent clashes.
