Our Eli! My dad used to work in a crane depot in Thornaby, where Eli once turned up asking could he take away an old length of angle iron he'd seen in their yard? Dad said he was exactly the same as his stage persona!

A lovely man who worked for years on stage despite having a terrible stutter. Cousin of Jim Casey. Think he lived or had relatives near my in-laws in Newtown, Stockton.
