Portuguese Covid variant in two weeks?

There has always been a big link between Brazil and Portugal due to the language. Hopefully it wont happen but wouldn’t surprise us would it?
 
Were on the Thai variant now aren't we after the Indian government demanded proof and virus isolation evidence that the "Indian" variant came from India?

but the Indian variant is 75% of all current COVID cases. I bet that changes on Monday to the Thai variant
 
Have you noticed as well that the media never reports on tweaking of vaccines to counter this variants nor do they ever go into the variation percentages compared to previous strains of the virus. The genomic sequence of the Indian varian is less than 0.3% different to the original strain from Wuhan. Yet variants are massively blown out of proportion as if it is some kind of new virus that evades all vaccines and treatments.

There will be thousands of variants out there, and if the media keeps plucking ones out of the air, they’ll do nothing but scare swathes of the population into hiding at home. There are even memes on social media of how ridiculous it is becoming. The BBC in particular have been nothing but a disgrace in instilling fear, especially throughout these past couple of months as things have been unlocking, vaccine rollout gathers pace and breakthroughs in new treatments.
 
The media in general, but especially the tabloids, have been very irresponsible at times though out this Pandemic. Seemingly desperate to spread fear and panic.

Or a big Indian Covid surge in Porto, probably more irresponsible for them to let in Brits especially those coming from the Greater Manchester area.
