back in the day when you got your weekly pack of bacon for the household at the butchers and there was none of this rindless option. Well, nobody in our house liked the crisped up rind but me , but if you did the whole piece as one the bacon would be dry but the rind great so my mum said if I wanted it that bad I could cut it off all the pieces myself and could grill it separately after the bacon had come out. So I did, for about 3 years until I left home 😄

While in digs, two Boro lads and two Scousers, we grilled gammon steaks. Us Boro boys scraped the gammon fat (with brown bits) and had dripping sarnies, yum yum.
The Scousers nearly threw up soft sods

Have to say they are as guilty a pleasure as you could want but when you have high cholesterol many things are including cheese and crisps.

The Botanist do a Pork Scratching bar snack which is sensational.

Hot, salty, crispy, with a scattering of chilli and spring onion.
