Police powers during restrictions

I feel for the Coppers who really have no set guidelines. Seen a number of footage of people questioning the rules and TBF the police have no come back. There was one of a women who just questioned everything the copper said to her. Eventually she forced them to arrest her. And another of a family giving the Coppers so much grief, I would go for the big stick system like India.

So far just over a 1000 fines by 37 forces, which works out say two fines per force per day. The North West gave out 30% of those fines in the first day! So some forces must be close to zero. Amazingly small number in 65000000 people.

Is there a standard fine of £££ which no doubt be appealed against. Some deserve to get the virus just for their stupidity.

I think it's £60 reduced to £30 if paid early. Further offences rise to £960.

Any fixed penalty fine can be appealed, but it could be some time . . .

We're allowed out to buy essential items.
Only shops selling essential items are allowed to open.
Off licences are allowed to open
Therefore they are judged to sell essential items
So beer, wine and spirits are essential.
Therefore we're allowed to buy them.

The government clarified this the other day. If a shop is still open then you can buy any of the items in that shop, be it Easter Eggs or gardening stuff or alcohol etc. I don't drink alcohol anymore, but I reckon most people would say it is the most essential thing on their shopping list.

Was that the woman who was mentally exercising? I thought the copper showed great restraint- it goes on for about 15 minutes and it was the second time he’s approached her!
