Is it just me or hasn't their been much publicity regarding the Police and Crime Commissioner Election. I have seen quite a bit of publicity regarding the mayoral election but the commissioner election seems to have gone under the radar.

Sorry for being a bit thick but I had to google the candidates. I didn't realise Steve Turner was running for reelection till I saw his picture & recognised him, definetly a one horse race for Labour then.

Steve turner struggled to get elected as longbeck councillor, he recognised his gravy train was coming to an end with the PCC gig, he and his wife both ran both failed to get elected.

They asked for like 4 recounts or something

What has Turner done wrong from a working point of view? I get he had the issues with regards to his past and the whole Safeway drama, but as PCC he has not really put a foot wrong, unless I have missed something?

Go on, which of the 91 RR members are you

Although to answer your question...repeated harassment of a former colleague turned whistleblower when you're the PCC is very much not a good look

What's he done? Surely he should be extolling his successes easily after several years in role promising to sort out Cleveland police.

Houchen and Turners flyer dropped on my doormat this morning, which was perfect timing as I had a touch of the runs.

I know our candidate Matt Storey really well, he as leader of our group held Preston to account for 4 years when the council was a really toxic place. The fact that Preston didn't get returned as mayor proved how good a job he did in very very difficult circumstances.

It's not often I would say this about someone, but I'd vote for Matt, even if he wasn't a Labour candidate, I think he'll really excel as our PCC.

Rising crime, knife capital of the uk, tory police cuts

After 4 years of Turner, we now have the highest crime rate in the country, well above even London.

Is this the political opponent he set the police on or is this someone else?

Without elaborating, the guy shouldn't be anywhere near the position he holds. Barry Coppinger consistently made some chronically poor decisions, but at least his heart was fundamentally in the right place.

Add to the that the fact Tuner was previously UKIP candidate and I'd hold the firm view he's not fit for office.

Of all his faults I don't think this one can be held against him in fairness.
