PM proud of govt's record

I'm just watching this. The MHA carehome segment is especially revealing of government incompetence.

Its become clear to me that they are only interested in stumbling through the next 6 months.

No-deal Brexit, profit from the carnage, anything else after is gravy. Would not suprise me in the slightest if a few months into next year, Boris Johnson resigns.

No-one was available for comment.

Doesn't that just sum up the b***ds.

It’s a line that has been trotted out over and over again on most news programs from the first couple of weeks into the election campaign. I still can’t understand how so many were willing to vote for a party who wouldn’t put themselves forward to be scrutinised but there you go.

The entitled elite have somehow managed to frame a narrative that somehow sets them apart from an alternative entitled elite, they daren’t expose themselves to too much scrutiny in fear the deceit uncovered and the charade is exposed, and as soon as anyone starts holding them to account they scream of attacks and accuse them of being unpatriotic.

Beyond that the man in charge is simply not up to the job but as the entitled elite is convinced his worth as a leader is in his breeding, anyone challenging that is an upstart oik.

As finny said on another thread this "proud of the governments record" thing is a definite tactic and you're seeing it trotted out a lot.

I suppose the thinking is repeat it often enough and people start to believe it. Personally find it insulting to my intelligence but they've used this tactic repeatedly over the past few years and it's convinced people that we "must get Brexit done (as quickly as possible and no matter what cost)" and given them a massive majority so enough people must buy it.

This shower can get away with anything, that is clear.

The reason so many people in this country are more than willing to turn a blind eye to it all, is because of 3 little words.

"Get Brexit done".
Ain't that the truth. Seems we are getting the government we deserve.

Even if it does mean many of us dying.

The tactics of this Government are built on a foundation of manipulating data, sound bites and propaganda.

This pandemic has magnified things to such a degree that to continue in this manner leaves a dark stain on British democracy. Clearly orchestrated by Cummings, the Government ministers have acted like lemmings. I used to refer to Corbyn as a pied piper, well Cummings is one too.

They have nothing other than the failing method of ‘if you say something long enough and often enough in your 3 word sound bites it resonates as truth’. Well it is like anything, if you go to the well often enough, it eventually dries up. Recent polls show a huge decline in the Govts popularity, including the PM himself.

They found a way with ‘Get Brexit Done‘ that resonated. They have continued this with ‘Stay At Home‘, ‘Protect The NHS’, ‘Control The Virus‘, ‘World Leading Scientists‘, ‘Test And Trace’, ‘World Beating System‘ It goes on. They have got so focussed on stuff like this they have taken their eye off reality. You may be able to fool some of the people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time. This Government is being lead by a failing master tactician who only has one tactic and uses it to fit every scenario and the Government ministers seem hypnotised by its early wins. The truth can not be suppressed forever.

Watching KS embarrass BJ at PMQ time is hopefully a sign of what is to come: an electable, sensible and intelligent opposition leader.

As for BJ, his continued abject performances will most likely ensure he's nor seen as a long term solution solution for the Conservatives.

Unfortunately, there are too many people who have been suckered into falling for Boris Johnson's cultivated image.

'I know he bumbles and doesn't say anything, but I couldn't help but laugh at the state of his hair! What is he like?!'

People who refer to him solely as Boris need watching, as well.

He had half a pound of blonde hair on his suit shoulder yesterday - his lass must just throw him out the door after he’s rolled out of bed, scruffy chunt 🧐

I do think many people have been sucked in by his persona - eccentric British toff, underestimate him at your cost type of thing.

Fact is he's a fragment of a bygone British age that only exists in peoples imagination, much in the way that Brexit played on people's emotions.
