Hi all I dont want to be alarmist but I retired from fire brigade after 30+ years service nearly 3 years ago .
Phoned HR this morning and offered to go in as support in worst case scenario ( for no pay ).
Obviously cant go front line as out of training , but if we go in it allows support ops f/f's to go front line . You think just 1 f/f who contracts the virus wipes the watch out !
This also matters to police, health, prison , ambulance etc .
HR said gaffers are meeting today to call retired in .
The situation for public is immense re fire as they're all going to be living at home round the clock.
Get in touch guys ......only problem I've got is I'll need bigger trousers lol
