Players with the best shot on target % in the Championship this season (min 16 shots):

1️⃣ Adam Idah - 60% ⭐
2️⃣ Bali Mumba - 56.3%
➡️ Morgan Rogers - 56.3%
4️⃣ Emmanuel Latte Lath - 56%
5️⃣ Liam Cullen - 52.9%
➡️ Duane Holmes - 52.9%
7️⃣ Ozan Tufan - 52.6%

Why? They have stats for everything these days. Shots on target seems a standard one.
Percentage of shots on target. For players with more than 16 shots. (Very specific number)

A quantity of shots on target would seem more valuable or even better a quantity per 90 mins played.

But let's be honest stats like that are a bit fluff, usually cherry picked to support an argument, the only important one is goals.

Even Haaland only has a 28% shot conversion rate.

Going off this, Latte Lath's is 20%, which will be quite high for strikers.

As I said though, it's a deceptive stat.
The chances he has scored, from an XG perspective, have been quite low and harder to score, certainly compared to those clear cut chances, especially in the first part of the season.

Goals / 90 mins is the most important stat for an attacking player

Latte Lath - 0.52
Marcus Forss - 0.52
Sam Greenwood - 0.48
Riley McGree - 0.48
Josh Coburn - 0.33
Issiah Jones - 0.30
Matt Crooks- 0.22
Silvera - 0.15
Rogers - 0.14

Last Season

Akpom - 0.81
Archer - 0.72
Ramsey - 0.67
Watmore - 0.52
Forss - 0.46
Crooks - 0.35
Muniz - 0.20
McGree - 0.18
Jones - 0.11

Lath's xG/90 mins is very similar to Archer's last season. Lath - 0.60, Archer - 0.62

So this shows Lath is getting himself in as many goal scoring positions as Archer was but obviously his goal conversion rate is much lower. Although I don't think anyone needs the stats to form this opinion. It's fairly obvious from watching the matches.

Lath reminds me a bit of Britt. Has the knack of getting into the right positions, but finishing is very hit and miss.

Of course he also has much more to his all round game and doesn't **** himself laughing after every miss either.

Looking increasingly like a very good player for this level.

He reminds a little of Theo Walcott, when he just finishes and doesn't have too much time to think, he's fine. When he's clean through, 1 on 1 with time to think, where he can pick his spot, sit the keeper down, go round him etc etc, he goes to $hit

Something for Danks to work on anyway!

I wonder if the pace of the league is part of the problem at the minute too. In his earlier appearances he had a few chances where he dwelled on it too much and now he maybe feels like he has to get his shot off quickly or he'll get caught.

It's partly finding that balance.

I'm a big big fan of Latte Lath, really liked what i saw of him from the very start.

While i think Josh did a good job - LL is proving the more effective striker imo, and justifying his selection.
