Play off spot predictions

I think yesterday has sealed our fate. If you offered me a play off spot when Carrick came in well of course I would have bitten your hand off.

Now for me it’s about finishing strong and cementing a position in 3rd or 4th and getting the second semi final at the Riverside. I fancy us against any of the teams battling for 5th and 6th over 2 games and fancy us to against Luton in a one off game at the dreaded Wembley stadium.

Just need to make sure we don’t finish lower than 4th now.


My predictions are actually as it is right now.

3rd Boro
4th Luton
5th Millwall
6th Blackburn
 
I’d go with that.
I thought millwall might drop out for cov or norwich but not after yesterday.
With blades having wembley coming up I’ve not totally written off second spot. See what happens this weekend though.

I’d like Blackburn if it were to be playoffs. Luton are a big physical direct team so could be a great game for wembley large pitch for us to open them up.

I’d eat my pants if we finish below 4th

Not a chance blackburn will give us 7k tickets rules for the playoffs are different. Why would they want a large away following (apart from ticket revenue)

Villa only got 2k at our place

Stoke are on fire… thank goodness they’re too far away. Wouldn’t fancy our chances against them at the minute.

Agree. they are the form team in the Championship for me. Just battered Coventry at their place. They are fortunately not going to make 10 points up on 6th place.

I have a feeling its going to be Millwall in the playoffs

If they only gave us 2k imagine the loyalty points arguments on here.

Boro V Luton Final, I would prefer not to play Luton or Millwall over 2 legs.

Yeah the EFL minimums for the playoffs are the same as for other league matches. They’re not the same as the cup rules. It’s potentially as lows as the lower of 10% or 2k.
 
As great as we have been since MC took over we are still prone to getting turned over in really important matches, Burnely (a), Sunderland ( a), WBA (a) and yesterday. I think if the play offs
are the route we go then anything could happen, it's will be a strange mix of expectations for me, that we could either go out with a whimper or win our first Wembley game.

Not much use if you lose the first game though by more than 1 goal

Leeds won at Derby then lost the home leg (1st time its happened i think)
