Plane spotters. Teesside visitor today

It is back working fine again, the website that is.

We often see the C17 flying around here, but I never knew MME had a long enough runway for it to land, which it just did a few minutes ago.

Tempted to fire up my flight radar and antenna again. Was great to track military planes using MLAT and other local nerds :)

The dtvmovements website is still 'broken'.

My camo joke went unseen
Haha, "I see" now

I miss jokes all the time when they're written down, my head just takes everything at face value. I should have spotted that mind, was a pretty common joke we all used around army folk who were always in their camo gear, us lot hardly ever had to wear it.

Teesside is one of the longest civilian runways in the country... it can take everything (2,291m)

the C17 is also a tactical in-theatre lifter so can use rough and short runways... (1,100m is the minimum requirement)

Its bloody impressive i was in the back of it loading the bags
