Pitch invasion penalties ?

As for fences those whose memory of Hillsborough burns bright know we should never return to those dark days.
We might have to, unless fans buck their ideas up, as clubs won't pay for security staff (or likely to be able to source that many on last day of the season), things should be getting better, but seemingly it's getting worse.

The fences were only partly to blame at Hillsbrough, there's better controls for entry, big games sell out early, not many go to big games without tickets, obviously all the seating rather than standing, better awareness, more CCTV etc. Seeing that again is highly unlikely, but even if that did happened again it wouldn't be because of fences.

If they hadn't been fences, the fans at the front could have easily got over the wall and onto a safe area. This would have alleviated the crushing int the tunnel, the middle of the stand and against the fence.

No matter what the issue, we can never return to fences.

Bans for any supporters entering the pitch, I would also add ,any player leaving the field of play to celebrate a goal with the fans, straight red card. How many times do you see players doing this and the crowd surges forward. Stewards have a tough enough job without players making it harder.By all means celebrate how they wish but keep it to the confines of the pitch

I disagree with players not being allowed to celebrate with fans. Some of the best moments at Ayersome was Slaven on the Holgate fence.

A couple of electric fence strands that can be turned off in an emergency 🫢

If you do it once you get a lifetime ban.
If you do it again you go to prison and club gets a docked one point for letting you in the stadium.
Do it a third time and the club gets docked ten points and your name and address gets put in the gazette.
😁

I'd previously thought of stadium bans as being as useless as driving bans. People would just find a way of doing it anyway because you can't be watched 24/7.

The use of artificial intelligence with good CCTV above the turnstiles could make it easily enforceable nationally, though. Home and away, you're not getting through the door.
