Photo quiz for the old geezers.

No Alan Smith, his career was ended early as a Boro Apprentice and he became a Physio and Jimmy Headridge mentored him. He ended up as physio for England eventually.

I seen Alex Smith play for us, he ended up as kit man for us under Robson.
I had not known of a Boro player called Alan Smith, and as I had already given away the physio's name, I assumed you meant Alex, as he was of the era that the photograph was taken.

I came to this too late, having been actually watching football safty. Any road I got them all straight away.🙂

Peter Wilson and Bob Worthington used to have a quick kick about in the street with us on their way to calling for rwo very attractive sisters.

Don Masson was regular for the QPR side that finished second in the old First Divison in 1976 and didn't he miss a pen for Scotland at the 1978 World Cup Finals.

Is the photo taken in 1966?

It would have to have been taken between September 1966 (when John Hickton and Willie Whigham joined) and September 1967 (when Geoff Butler was sold to Chelsea). Given that this is basically the 1967 promotion team with Jimmy Lawson missing, and there's no Jim Irvine and Neville Chapman or others who appeared early in the 66-7 season, and that they all look fairly happy, I think it's almost certainly 1967, possibly after they had just won promotion.
