I spent most of my childhood in Peterlee. And I'm a decent person too.I'm from Easington and also a really nice chap.....
The vast majority are normal, working class folk. Just getting on with their lives. Decent people, same as Teessiders or Geordies. Just funnier accents.....Yes but you two support the Boro. And you will definitely know what I’m talking about with the mentality of people in those places!
I actually like it (even though its now very down at heel) - but it helps that I love modernist and brutalist architecture. I do understand that not everyone is as enamoured with the Pavillion as I am.The vast majority are normal, working class folk. Just getting on with their lives. Moronic brain dead d*ckheads are everywhere - even on Teesside.
Peterlee is a massive sh*thole though. Grew up there from the age of 11 and it's.......sh*t.
The event wasn't sold out on Thursday - but it was full of people trying to come together as a community or support that community. The celebration brought together some incredibly talented musical artists who have passed on knowhow and skills to local youngsters. The school children and college children all did so well over the week. Helping to write songs with some really accomplished songwriters, getting up on a big stage took some guts and will be an experience that will stay with them. The artists had a fantastic time and everyone enjoyed the marvellous facilities of East Durham College, many of their staff giving up their time free of charge. It was a tremendous success for Peterlee, East Durham and the region. Everyone was doing their bit for Peterlee and then there is you Zanzibobs Thursday wasn't sold out.Really wish I had gone to this on Thursday but tickets were sold out. One of the schools performing was the school I work at, and kids I teach. Although definitely not the one that will be receiving ukuleles! The kids are mostly fantastic.
Apart from that, Peterlee is an absolute cesspit. Not got a good word to say about the place. The mentality of people from there, easington and similar places goes to show what folk from these areas are like. When talking about football they really have no idea and all I usually get is stuff about being a ‘nappy ripper’.
cracking charity shops near the catalogue store ( name escapes me and cant be arsed to google)The vast majority are normal, working class folk. Just getting on with their lives. Decent people, same as Teessiders or Geordies. Just funnier accents.....

I believe he's buried in Wheatley Hill CemeteryThe town was indeed named after trade unionist Peter Lee. It was designed as a new town to offer employment and decent housing for the workers and family of the shrinking Durham coalfield.
