Pepsi & McDonald’s as normal in Russia! Boycott them !

Same; are you suggesting people should just freeze 🥶 ?
(Obviously you aren’t are you ? Obviously ridiculous we’ve been lead to rely on Russia for gas but that’s our political choices. We have no choice
Er, we obtain 3 percent of our natural gas from Russia. The EU mean is 35 percent. Not claiming any prescience by them Tories, but stating a relevant fact.

They were saying on the telly that we only rely on Gazprom for 3% of our gas needs here in the U.K, the E.U is 42%.
I would say we don't really need to rely on anyone for our oil & gas as we still have quite bit of it under the North Sea.
You beat me too it Sisyphus

I stopped drinking Coca-Cola after seeing a Simon Reeves programme on how people in South America were suffering from drought due to them diverting the water supply for their factory. I am sure the amount I spent on Coke hasn't damaged their profits but it does make me feel better.

I am also another who refuses to enter McDonald's - Pepsi will now be joining that list.

Edit: Nice to see the dockers refused to offload the gas supply from a Russian vessel on the Thames.

You really do like to cause an argument don't you?
Might help you if you actually read what people post or didn't try and use false equivalence and a complete lack of context.
I know I have an argument when I see anyone disagreeing with me is liked by Little Tory.

As it happens I know on here if the UK was buying that gas and we put ourselves in the position where we are desperate for it the Remainers would be all over it. But that's not the case.

Yes I completely understand that and the reasons behind them, but with the state level of control over the media and how it will be interpreted wont that just push the average citizen further away from the west? If the strategy behind that is to push them to rise up to their government I cant exactly see it making much of a difference
Try telling that to the tens of thousands of Russian protesters on the streets. The message will get through.

If Putin is using the excuse to the Russian public that the West is threatening Russia and its safety, and he is claiming that he is defending them. Then withdrawing the wrong products will just add weight to his claims for the ordinary Russian.

McDonald’s is a franchise isn’t?
McDonalds is a franchise so I doubt HQ couldn't stop trading there because they don't own the businesses trading under the brand. Also if you are calling for us to boycott the companies you will need to stop using the following brands owned by PepsiCo and not just Pepsi

Walkers Crisps
Quaker Porridge Oats
Tropicana Fruit Juices
Liptons Teas
7Up
Doritos
Mountain Dew
Ruffles
Starbucks Coffee

Easily done. Shop at Aldi

There are some McDonald's franchises in Russia but the overwhelming majority of outlets are directly operated by McDs

You have an alternative solution?
Doesn't sit right with me that the average Russian who doesn't support Putin and his team are actively been punished more than him and his financially stable friends and sponsors, that's all.

(Watch that be twisted into 'Randy supports Putin and Russia's aims', such is the bonkers way this board works sometimes).

I'm with you Randy but it's needs must I'm afraid. Taking these off the Russians will only make them hate putin more.

I agree Randy. McDonald's withdrawing from Russia targets the wrong people.

Our energies would be better spent getting Johnson to actually act against the Russian gangsters here and do it now not in 18 months.

Target the right folks with the right sanctions. Ultimately the Russian people will suffer and they have my sympathies but then so do the Ukraine women and children.

Totally agree Randy.

I don't drunk pepsi (or coke, which is one of the world's largest polluters) or eat mcdonalds and never will. They are terrible multi-nationals and this latest stay open at all costs to rake in the cash in Russia and sod those Ukrainians doesn't surprise me at all.
Evil nasty companies, devoid of ethics or morals. all this is my opinion, of course
