People you were surprised to learn are black / mixed race

Wow I had no idea about that! You’ve put me in the mood to rewatch that film, haven’t seen it in years.
 
It's obviously not surprising if you'd seen him in Gandhi first, or know his birth name, but I was surprised when I found out Sir Ben Kingsley was half Indian.

I'd seen him in loads of films before I ever got round to that one, I first saw him in Schindler's List, so I'd assumed he was Jewish.

Wentworth Miller, the main actor from Prison Break is mixed race too.

One species with clear regional variations just like nearly every other one. Pretending they don’t exist is ridiculous. A Yorkshire Terrier and a Great Dane aren’t the same. The only difference is they have intentionally been bred selectively over time.
 
My wife is 1/4 Syrian. She only found out when she was in her 30s. After we had got married.

Even stranger. Her grandad, that she didn't know, lived in Middlesboro Kentucky.

At the wedding there was a bit of coverage in the news of a gospel choir and I thought how quaint.
Even when she got pregnant I don't think it began to permeate my brain that her mum was black and her dad white but I'd definitely forgotten about it all until Danny Baker posted this image and there was all the furore about it.

The welsh don't like the english nor do the scots,the english are not keen on the french.the north don't like the sourth and vice versa the boro don't like sunderland,sunderland don't like newcastle and vice versa.
