Pension question

Fantastic Erimus, I took early retirement last week at 59 and count myself very fortunate to be able to do so.
26 years with the same company.
Into the allotment this spring and summer, want to enjoy the outdoors, we love walking, so many miles to be trod

Cheers Maccarone, sounds very similar to what I want to do, gardening, walking 🚶‍♂️👍

It's been offered to me, but I think the private pension has to be 'bought' and so devalues it so I need to explore further. We'll be getting together with our IFA once allowed, don't like discussing these things with him if it's not face to face
I am no expert Artie, but I am sure if the pension is a small one the pension company may be glad to see the back of it and give you more than it's worth just to get it off the books. Not sure who told me that and I have no idea whether it is true or not, but worth asking.

Different names NorthumberlandBoro, started out as ICI
I've loved my job from the minute I started & give & take a few days, here & there since, I still love my job

I feel very lucky really TBH
My Mum and stepdad were with ICI (fibres) and retired from Gloucester at 50 with incredible schemes. Never to be seen again. I worked there for a year and couldn’t settle, but I’ve many mates that still work there (under new ownership, of course DuPont, Invista etc.)
