I believe they won't either. Sounded more like they were trying to get the general Chinese population onside to any potential flashpoint/conflict, especially with the government leaking a post on Webo telling their citizens to prepare for war and then deleting the post a few hours later.
If China attacks her plane then it’s an automatic declaration of war and probably the start of ww3
That said , China are probably making plans to attack Taiwan soon and it needs to be emphasised that the US will defend them if they do . There has to be a deterrence
If there isn’t a deterrence , then Ukraine happens.
I really don’t get it with China . So long as they don’t invade , then Taiwan won’t declare independence and they get to continue to claim that Taiwan is part of China . Both sides are happy then

Not with the potential consequences if it is attacked . Attack on any government officials is a declaration of war
You then have two nuclear superpowers at war with each other and **** knows where that leads
It is an extremely dangerous move in my opinion . But China need to be deterred

I read that some prominent republicans had offered to go on the trip with her. For what reason who knows. But America strengthening it's ties with Taiwan makes the world a safer place for us all ultimately. If China were to invade Taiwan with no response from America they wouldn't stop there.

They really wouldn't ..... not sure what you are basing that on. It is our taxes that are propping up the Ukraine , already at least $8b USD I believe , not everyone over here walks around with a pistol and Trump flag.

There’s a few US warships not too far away either.
It’s the USA showing it’s teeth basically . It’s sending the message to me that the us intends to defend Taiwan with all it’s might if need be. Taiwan would be hard enough to invade by itself , the USA getting involved would make that even harder .
Think sterner action is needed against China and Russia given the **** the Russians have just pulled in Ukraine
The west needs to show these evil dictators that if imperialism is the way they want to go , then we will make them pay dearly for it
