Parking Marton Road

Just a heads up, going back to the Derby game i was later than usual and normally park outside of the Ironops anyway it was full so went to the car park to the rear of the Nops opposite steel city. When i got out to pay there was a bloke in a high viz asking for payment as both machines were not working (one had the coin slot blocked, the other was off) i argued with this man for 20 minutes as i was addiment he was not legit. there was a few people turning up and he was saying if you didn't pay him it would be on camera and we would get a ticket so begrudgingly i paid him £2.50 (what a fool!!!) got a £100.00 fine land this morning so don't fall for it like i did if you park near hear. I will be walking past that way on Saturday i really hope he is there.

It's a bit late for you now but you or others in the future with similar circumstance could aske them for i.d/ permission, and say you want to take their picture or tell them they're on dashcam, if ever in doubt. Or say you know the owner and make up a random name, and say his hard as ****. Chances are they will leg it.

Could also check if the machines are actually working, and take a pic of them if not, maybe even ring the number tell them they're out of order and that you will pay them if they contact you for payment.

You shouldn't need to pay a fine, if it's impossible to pay, and if they have some imposter on their land, claiming they're acting for the landowner, then that should be the landowners problem.

I took pictures of both machines and have sent them off but i will be surprised if it gets over turned. There must have been at least 5 other cars turn up at the same time and i know others paid him too.

Usually when a machine is out of order there's another option to pay via an app. This does sound like a chancer and if there are signs in the car park you will have broken the contract by paying this man money and not paying through the proper channels. It will be anpr cameras rather than cctv

The parking company may be interested in someone profiting from the land they manage, but theyll be more interested in taking £60-100 off you!

You should have asked for a receipt if he was legit he no doubt would have abliged, but in the heat of the moment (especially when youre running late) i guess common sense goes out of the window

I just hope nobody else falls for it.

Trying to establish the precise location.
Is this the private car park at the junction of Marton Road and Grange Road? This will be patrolled by Neighbourhood Enforcement on Saturday.
Making sure we have the right car park.

Yes this is correct on Marton Road opposite Steel City Gym.

GREAT INFO - thank you all.

I drive from York every game, Park in the streets around Dr Browns for all Games.

Arrive around 90 mins before k.o. to park.
A problem at times now.
That is with only just 20K.

Saturday 33K maybe, totally knackered.

Do not want to be stuck in a NCP style car park after game.

Willing to pay to avoid hassle.
Any ideas anyone?

Park in a car park.
I got this plan updated for fans prior to the Spurs game.

I fell for something like this when we went to Manchester Utd a few years ago. felt a right fool but I appealed and got the fine reduced by 50%

Contestor are good i used them for the joke that is a 'private road' next to the street my partner lives on. As soon as VCS knew i had legal representation they dropped the case. Cost me £70 but i offered VCS the £60 initial PCN to put the matter to bed and they refused

I paid 20 quid for Private Parking appeals but the one I linked starts from 25. With the knowledge and time the cast majority of private parking tickets are very winnable

Theres 3 privately owned car parks near the ironopolis club all anpr all pay at machine and enter number plate.

Anyone asking for cash upfront is a chancer. The rule is if you cant pay (at a working machine or via an app) dont stay. Theres usually a 5min grace period between entering said car parks and choosing to stay or notScreenshot_20220319-110512_Gallery.jpg
