So as a FIFA member, they need to be in a confederation. The Asian confederation is closed to them. So they had to apply elsewhere. As a UEFA member they are free to enter it's competitions

I can understand why they applied but not why UEFA felt the need to admit them. Was it voted on by UEFA members?

I really dislike how Israel have conducted themselves but people against them don't really help themselves when they present things as some kind of Israeli conspiracy. All people need to do is take a few minutes to actually look into things.

I was in Egypt when there was a series of shark attacks in the Red Sea in the vicinity of Sharm el Sheik. There was a story in the local paper about Mossad training killer sharks to ruin the Egyptian tourist industry.

Well good luck with finding the details of the application procedure for a national association to UEFA back in the 90s if you really want the skinny, and it is usually as much about politics as football anyway. Having a national association who are full FIFA members but without a confederation is probably a logistical nightmare all round and UEFA, for all their corruption, are one of the more stable federations
