Paddy McNair

If he could just iron out the couple of lapses of concentration he would be great, some of his passing was excellent.

Him and fry used to be a solid partnership under Warnock, so a run of games might just get him back to his best

Bounced back well after the Brighton game as did all the team did tbf. Showed some great passing ability and definitely got stuck in when it mattered.

I'll admit I was anxious about the idea of him starting in a back 4 today but he did well. Carried the ball into the midfield to create overloads at times.

McNair was excellent yet the 'experts' of the board think we should get rid of him and he's useles and the rest the sheep who can't think for themselves all pile on......

Sounds like Lenihan is going to be out for a while so thank goodness Carrick knows the score 👍

Massively unfair that mate… he has been diabolical for nearly a year.

I am happy to admit ( and have done above) that he had a good game today, but that can’t get away from the previous 12 months.

I genuinely hope his performance today is the kick on he needed for the rest of the season

I was nervous about McNair today but I thought he did well on the whole and that was one hell of a win against a tough team.
Next up Sunderland away. Another huge test of our progress and given lenihan looks like he is out for an undefined period having McNair and Clarke fighting it out (when he’s fit) is great….currently McNair is blowing out the cobwebs and rightly so….he’s been out for a while and probably doubted his future here but he now has a big chance (!)
Sunderland weakened by a defeat today, o’ nein missing after being sent off today, (he is an important disruptive force for Sunderland make no mistake) and losing that striker from Everton who can score goals especially at home….
We’re in good spirits and good shape.
All that said I expect a very tough game and think it could go either way.
I expected Sunderland to win today so that may sow a bit of doubt and I thought a win for boro today would be massive for our belief….

Come on you mighty reds. We can do this next Sunday and should have 10k fans cheering us on but for the terrified mackems! Outsinging them….because I truly believe our fans are more passionate than Sunderland and Newcastle fans (all of us more passionate than the rest of the country’s fans imho) and crucially, more knowledgeable.

I’m buzzing, up the mighty Boro! 😃

He was excellent, I'm a massive Paddy fan as I've said repeatedly. I was gearing up to losing him, being sad but expecting it. Pleasantly surprised he's back and took his chance. I'd still hope Leinhan is back soon but I'd love Paddy to be an integral part of our squad. He's more than good enough. He proved it again today
