I think the lad was a friend of the family as his illustrations/paintings made it into the club shop.

Poor lad was thrown under the bus for it. Was still at college I think and got thrown under the bus after a version was signed off and printed in the gazzette where the club name didn’t line up with the curve of the crest.

It looked dreadful and sparked the debate then that we hadn’t taken as much care snd attention to our badge redesign as our fans would have hoped for.

All fan based designs are fooking dreadful and in hindsight the college kids design is probably better than anything any our fans could have come up with.

Honestly, if I took over the club from Gibbo, the 86 badge is making a return. Should never have been replaced (albeit I can understand changing the date).

My guess is because Gibson likes it and when was the last time he gave a crap about what the fans think.

Another one for the 86 badge here. I know my love of it will include nostalgia, but It's simple, unlike others and has a classy feel to it.
