I do wonder why commentators apologise for swearing from the benches (which I can rarely catch) and studiously ignore clearly audible profane songs including liberal and imaginative expletives that might grace the pages of Roger's Profanisaurus?

Just one time I would like to hear a commentator say "if there's anyone offended by some of the language our microphones have picked up, go **** yourself and watch the water polo instead you massive fanny".

They did apologise when the Boro fans did the "you fat bastad" thing really loud.
"Apologies to any fat bastads offended by that."
They may have said....

Shocking stadium insult to professional football standards.

Hardly, have you seen their budget? Clubs at this level can’t just go and build a new stadium when they fancy

If any professional can’t play in a stadium that’s a bit run down then they shouldn’t be in the game.

Give me their ground over some modern soulless ground any day

Apologising for bad language, particularly after 9 o'clock is laughable.
The level of profanity on mainstream TV on shows like 'scared of the dark' is off the scale.

There was a canny rendition of 'you're just a soft southern bas*ard' coming loud and clear through the TV when one of their players was down

Also worth a mention when sky apologised for anyone being offended by our end chanting ‘you fat b@stàrd, arrghh’, when they took a goal kick in the 2nd half.
