looking to learn a bit of Spanish, just wondered if anyone had used any of the online learning apps such as Babbel or Duolingo and had any recommendations btw I would be a total beginner
Wife has taught EFL for years and agrees with this.I use Duolingo, find it okay, just do a bit every day(almost), don't pay anything
planning a trip in the Spanish Pyrenees want to get enough of the language so I can ask for directions (my navigation skills are gash) , where to get water and food and places where I can wild camp etc so nothing too advanced, some areas I think they prefer to speak Catalan, Basque or other local languages but apparently most people will also speak SpanishI know about 500 words in spanish, the problem is apart from the greetings and beer you won't have a clue when they speak fast.
The only way to learn is to be amongst the native speakers.
Cheers will check it outNot an app but have you tried the Michel Thomas courses? They are a good way to learn lots of vocabulary and sentence building quickly.
