That seems steep even for Villa’s s desparate standards for a player unproven in the PL.


Spurs have forced their hand a bit.
 
Yes that does seem steep but on the other hand if he does well £28m may seem like a good deal in a few years time
 
£30m doesn’t buy you much in the premier league these days. I think Watkins will be a success in the premier league, his movement and awareness are first class. He has all the attributes to be a success.

Think he will do well for them. He was well rusty the other day mind in the cup game but that can be expected.
 
I have mixed feelings on Ollie-- he strikes me as another Dele -- kind of lazy looking fella. Ok he played his part in Brentford's upsurge but his performances tailed off during the restart which made me think he'd over achieved in the Championship. Good for Brentford and Exeter -- who had a sell on clause I believe.

The difference being Tarkowski is a proven Premier League asset and a class player to boot. £50m is Burnleys valuation to ward other teams away. West Ham offered £30m.
 
I think Newcastle got a bit of a bargain in 20mil for Wilson. He was cack last year but decent every other season.

The price for forwards is shocking (then again we paid 6/15/7/9 for Rudy /Britt/Fletcher and Braithwaite). It's hardly Brentford type finding 'gems'.
