Do you want me to start a thread about Oasis ambivalence, is that what you're saying? What about those who are ambivalent to them, how do we express our disinterest, and how do we make sure everyone knows ?

Be like two middle aged hoolies squaring up to each other - few verbals, finger pointing, security casually wanders on stage to intervene then they both start to "kick off" knowing full well there's no chance of anything happening. Bored looking security then carry them off stage in opposite directions to their individual limo's.Maybe even on stage like the View!
Not saying it’s right or wrong, just commentatingI'm sure you're right, but is that so terribly wrong? If they put on a decent show and those attending get what they want out of it, making money isn't fundamentally wrong, is it?
The only other reason to reform might be for the benefit of the haters. Think about it: unless they were telling us that they hate Oasis, people might assume that they were fans, and that really won't do. By reforming, they've given every Oasis-hater the perfect opportunity to declare their hatred.
You apparently need to create another thread for that, every thread has to have a 100% consensus opinion otherwise atypical gets upsetWhat about those who are ambivalent to them, how do we express our disinterest, and how do we make sure everyone knows ?
Shed Seven's new album earlier this year went to number one, Maximo Park and The Hives were top of the bill at the last festival I was at. Actually I've remarked with mates that the top bill at a lot of places in the last couple of years are the band's that were around 25 years ago.dunno, I saw suede and the manics a couple of weeks ago and it was rammed. Plenty of other good bands from that era that people are interested in. Maybe less mainstream these days compared to Oasis but not at the time.
That's apathy though.....If you want, I'm not bothered either way.
Where was that again? Yarm?
I've offered to start one for ambivalence but Lizards now seems to want one for apathy as well! You apparently need to create another thread for that, every thread has to have a 100% consensus opinion otherwise atypical gets upset
True, although the View lads proper went for each other.Be like two middle aged hoolies squaring up to each other - few verbals, finger pointing, security casually wanders on stage to intervene then they both start to "kick off" knowing full well there's no chance of anything happening. Fair enough if that was your experience, have to say I've never felt that at a HFB gig though. Including ones at the Manchester Ritz and the like.Oasis were a band of their time, I quite liked a couple of their early songs, in my opinion they ran out of steam after their second album. My musical tastes have moved on since those days, but I can see the appeal for nostalgic reasons. I’ve watched Pixies and JAMC in recent years and enjoyed both shows.
I’m not sure I’d go to see Oasis on this tour though. I was given tickets to watch NGHFBs at on the beach festival in Brighton a couple of years ago. I ended up leaving before Noel came on, the atmosphere suddenly got more sinister as very drunken (mostly) blokes were fighting to get a decent view.
The whole feel of the place changed as the beered up bucket hat wearing thugs came out of the bars. I’ve been to a lot of festivals, raves and gigs in my time, but I’ve never felt an atmosphere as dark as that one.

Ah nice. Liam looks a fair bit younger there mind,.Bay Horse, Hutton Rudby
Heaton Park will be packed to the rafters (?!?!) with every scally and scrote in Manchester. Hope I'm wrong, but could be a little bit of bother there.Fair enough if that was your experience, have to say I've never felt that at a HFB gig though. Including ones at the Manchester Ritz and the like.
Happy Mondays, Stone Roses, Primal Scream, New Order - a lot of these gigs do have a bit of an edge to them but imo its no different to being in the away end at a Boro match. The vast majority of folk are just there for the football/music etc.
Well I don't see it being vastly different to the Stone Roses and there was no bother then.Heaton Park will be packed to the rafters (?!?!) with every scally and scrote in Manchester. Hope I'm wrong, but could be a little bit of bother there.
