Now that Cummins has got the boot Durham Police are investigating his Lockdown Charades

Cummings has been remarkably silent since his sacking. Johnson would no doubt like to keep it that way. A second police investigation is just perfect.

As much as I dislike Cummins, its nothing to do with his sacking, its because Nazir Afzal (a lawyer who's brother died of Covid) has submitted additional material/evidence to them and the Met.

You are right Jonny- but the timing is perfect. And what a bladder his toddler must have eh?

Seems like a waste of time and resources - at the end of it all even if guilty what’s he going to get a slap on the wrist.
Just feels politically motivated, my neighbour is in flagrant disregard of the rules daily, no one is investigating her as far as I know.
Surely Police resources could be put to better use regardless of what side of the political divide you sit on?

It is different in this case though because Cummings was so close to Johnson - such a prominent member of the government has to be investigated when lives were at stake.

I mean look at this current tier 3 lockdown, all these months later the average punter in the street is very restricted.

Public figures have to strive to set an example.

If found guilty of perverting the course of justice he is going to jail. FatCat your neighbour as far as you are aware, didn't pervert the course of justice. So no the two cases are not the same. One results in a fine, the other in a prison sentence. The maximum penalty for the crime is life in prison. Not really the same is it?

That’s a tad dramatic - life in prison - what’s the probability of that in this case?
Again I say in terms of what the police could be spending their time on I just find it very odd.

It’s different , let me know the law that says he should be treated any differently to anyone else?

He shouldn't be. But allegations of perverting the course of justice are very serious.
Exactly my point - guidance, as I recall is 4 to 36 weeks in jail. It is very unusual to not give a custodial sentence. It is nothing like RS's neighbour.

That and lieing on oath are big no no's.

Judges will go for him if he is found guilty.

I was a prosecuting Witness when a judge warned a very serious bloke that he needs to be careful with words.
His legal team stopped everything and apologised on his behalf.

FC- people use Dominic Cummins behaviour to flout the instructions given by the government not to travel etc. ("If it is alright for Cummins, why not me" attitude). How many lives has this cost?
Because of Cummins behaviour, (and others) I know of people who believe that CV 19 is a hoax, and just a plot to keep people under control.- after all, a man wouldn't risk his wife and childs lives if it was real would he?
When you add onto it ministers behaviour (Jenrick for example and the Scottish chief medical officer), it no wonder people break the boundaries. -Yes these should have been be prosecuted too.

His infamous speech reminded of the scene in the ali g movie, when he accuses the prime minister of sucking off a horse.

If there is such a thing as Karma he'll spend a little time in prison and be forced to become someone's girlfriend while he's in there.

Thats odd. The last time I looked working for the Government doesn’t exempt you from criminal prosecution.
