Just let that sink in for a minute it’s simply unbelievable to think of even four years ago. I’d be interested to hear from the Spain based posters how the fall out from this had gone down.

Yes that really is incredible. But I really think Real/Barca are on the bones of their @r$es. I expect La Liga to gradually decline as a powerful league.

To be fair, there's not that many senior Spanish players in the Real Madrid squad, and half of them are injured or old and coming back from injury.

I think it's only Nacho and Asensio in their squad that are fit but were overlooked.

Carvajal, Vasquez and Ramos all have injuries and fitness issues.

As the closest was 1950 ( I googled it) when only one Real Madrid player was picked and that was seen as scandal, so yes it’s pretty staggering really.
