I usually get the train from Redcar to Middlesbrough on matchdays but I am aware that there is a rail strike, however, I am able to book a train ticket for tomorrow on the northern rail app.... abeit they are only available every hour rather than the usual 30 minutes. If I try to book train for a journey for today then the app will not allow me to so. All this suggests that there is no service at all today but there may be trains on tomorrow, although on a limited basis. Does anyone know if there is a possibility of trains running from Saltburn to Middlesbrough tomorrow ?
 
Similar for next Saturday. Even thought it's not a strike day the apps are saying trains won't be running as normal. The whole network is screwed at the moment.
 
To the OP. If you live anywhere near town centre get X4 from outside of the old Standard. ATM there is a cap on journey of £2 single. Takes about 25 minutes.
 
National rail are definitely showing no trains tomorrow, next ones between Redcar and Middlesbrough are Sunday. Like said above plenty of buses running, also if you're feeling flush think its about £15 in a taxi, which isnt too bad if shared with a few of you
 
I tried to book a train ticket (open return) to Newcastle for tomorrow and The Trainline would not let me go to the complete booking stage despite showing trains available.

I think the issue was that there were no return trains past 4.30pm tomorrow evening.
 
Many thanks for all the helpful replies. I will be getting a taxi as I don't live near the town centre.... but the X4 was a good suggestion. I had thought all the bus journeys from Redcar to Middlesbrough lasted longer than the match !

Aaah thats the 63 your thinking of. I am also going for the taxi option. Straight to Navvy. Back after the match to Navvy and taxi back to Redcar.
