I watched most of the game. I thought the result was hard on them. They seemed to have twice as many chances as the Slovakians. And of course could have won in the 90th minute when they hit the post.

McNair was rated as their second best player after Dallas on the BBC website. McNair was heavily involved. He was given a wider role than at Boro. I think he is better more central with the ability to go wide to cross when it is appropriate. He was feeling the back of the top of his leg when he came off and was walking slightly impaired.

Same here Red, but instead of watching it I listened to it via Radio Ulster.
They definitely should have won it and will be feeling gutted today, especially when they see how elated and emotional our friends north of the border are today.

Not sure they should have won it, but they definitely deserved to go to penalties. Kyle Lafferty made a big difference when he came on and I'm not sure why he didn't start? Fitness? The winning goal took a very friendly deflection off Johnny Evans' arrse and the Slovakian first had an element of fortune about it.

Selfishly, I was more worried about McNair limping off and the prospect of him playing two more games before coming back to us.

I think they are very much like many 'lesser' nations and just miss a decent forward.

They are hard working and a great team spirit. Just miss a bit of craft or quality in the final 3rd. I was genuinely gutted for them as it would have been brilliant for Paddy and Sav

Yeah they have a decent defence and midfield then like league 1 level strikers. Conor Washington was poor.

Peacock Farrell cost them big time. He was once on the books at boro, but boro went with pears and he ended up at Leeds.

Shame really that they didnt go through, would have been nice to see all nations in the finals, read the report & the bloke said Saville went in to his shell after making a mistake, didnt see the game, he's had a very good season for us so far, hope it doesn't mess with his mind

He has took a bit of stick on the Northern Ireland Facebook page aswell. Hope he’s big and ugly enough to just let it ride over his head because he’s been quality for us so far and his presence in the team has been invaluable. I’m sure he can shake it off.
