North Tees Hospital Extremely Busy with Covid

How's the takeaway service going Randy ??
Ticking away mate. I'm only doing Thursday nights and Friday nights and the other 2 are doing Saturday and Sunday. Although I am working tonight. Were averaging about 100 people on a Sunday, 50's on a Friday and Saturday and Thursdays are dead lol.

We've knocked the Xmas menu on the head for this year. Too much expense in uncertain times, we will still be doing turkey dinners though. It's a shame as we do massive numbers all through December usually.

Hope those currently in hospital make a swift recovery and are back home soon.

Sad to say CV19 is following the pattern of Spanish Flu

First Wave - May 1918
Second Wave - November 1918 - bigger than first wave
Third Wave - May 1919 - smallest wave (might be avoided due to Vaccine thsi time)

Be careful with the way the data is presented in that Mail article.
For example, I’ve seen that critical care bed occupancy graph pumped out a few times but it paints a false picture in my opinion, comparing it with previous years. This is because critical care bed capacity has been increased this year so it’s not right to compare it by percentage occupied. It’s been pointed out plenty of times that if it’s aim is a true comparison, it should be done on absolute numbers occupied, not percentages, but certain media continue to publish it in that manner as it paints a false picture of the situation being no worse than last few years.
I agree just wanted to post some msm article mainly in response to the “scary stuff” comment. It worries me that people are scared, taking nothing away from those directly effected.

That's not bad numbers Randy, might give it a go...

My aunt was found collapsed on the bedroom floor during the week. Rushed in. Diagnosed septicaemia and pneumonia. Tested negative for COVID on admission. They tested her again this morning and she’s now positive, so either caught COVID in hospital or it’s more likely a false result.

All whilst the government is putting together a plan to allow people to gather indoors for a christmas dinner, seems a disaster waiting to happen
