Noel whelan and boksic

Quite a few pros say Noel Whelan was one of the most talented youngsters of his generation but he never fulfilled it. Seems to be a mental thing.

He lived with Strachan for a bit at Cov.... prob where it went wrong in hindsight.

That's right I'm sure Darren Huckerby said this when he was on the Quickly Kevin podcast. Painted a picture that Whelan was unbelievably gifted but completely unhinged and just did stupid things off the pitch.

I'm sure he told a story about Whelan damaging his tendons after kicking through a glass door in anger, then he turned up at the training ground seeking treatment from the physio who he asked not to tell Strachan! Apparently Strachan ordered him to move in with him shortly afterwards so he could keep an eye on him.
