Nobby's Notebook - QPR

I've changed the name of my new feature as a few people said I couldn't call myself a scout until I draw a salary from my work. This shouldn't be too long the way I have started πŸ‘After all I don't want to be accused of being a 'bullhitting fantasist' AGAIN ! 😑
If you haven't 'read me' before, I'm scouting an opposing player each home game, the player that really stands out for me...I hope to pass my information onto the club at the end of the season and get a free ST or something...

Anyway, what a game that was, end to end in the second half. Up until the sending off I had decided that my choice was probably going to be number 10 Ilias Chair, everything QPR did went though him. He was all over the pitch making a nuisance of himself, a link man between defence and attack. However, when he was surprisingly taken off on 59 mins another player came to the fore...

Nobby's pick No 21 Chris Willock
This lad simply destroyed us in the second half, lightening quick, full of energy and direct. He led the counter attacks. A beautiful chipped pass to set up Dykes for the second and with a smart finish for the third this player goes in the notebook. Could easily have scored again but for a Lumley save
Starting off in the Arsenal academy like his brothers Matt and Joe- now at Newcastle. He signed a five year contract with Benfica. After a couple of unsuccessful loans at West Brom and Huddersfield, QPR paid Β£750k to bring him to Loftus Road last year. Still only 23 it looks like money well spent.πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

PS A 'very small' shout out to the poster tonymcandrewshattrick who happened to mention this player in passing before the game πŸ‘

PPS A big shout out to my pal Boro Legend who is taking a break from this board ATM, and who could blame him. All the good lads on here miss your posts Legend πŸ‘

I would love Ilias Chair in a Boro shirt , I thought he was very good prior to being substituted.

You're right mate chair was excellent, and I was surprised when they took him off tbh. Willock was different gravy second half though and won the game for them. Hence my choice πŸ‘

Awesome, adding this to Roofies pre match warm up as my must read threads on this board

Can I make a suggestion though, can we have a mid season update/summary on the ones you have scouted and how they have progressed

Yes of course πŸ‘ I am keeping a list of all the players I scout, it will be interesting to see where they are in a couple of years even. The first 2 are nailed on to be playing in the Premiership if you ask me. I can spot talent when I see it πŸ‘πŸ”₯⚽

What did he say about Fletcher?
that he didn't think that he was up to the standard. At the time he said it he'd only just joined so i didn't have an opinion. My opinion is that I don't think that he was up to standard and is probably a div1 or 2 player, but happy to be proved wrong.

Marcus Browne is a different proposition because he said that he was eager to learn and would always put a shift in. That he's is a hard working and honest player.
