Nobby's Notebook - Hull City 📖✍️

Hi Sportsfans and welcome to Nobby's Notebook. What a difference a week makes...well 4 days actually, with two 0-1 home defeats. In the week where our previous manager (Neil Warnock) announced his retirement, we now find ourselves a similar distance outside the play off zone to when he was uncerimonously sacked !!!

Onto the game and Boro were out of sorts, badly missing our main attacking threat Jones. Hull's first win at the Riverside in 23 attempts !!!!

Hull City did a great job on us and several of their players caught the eye. Honeyman was busy and Longman (the Eric Cantona lookalike) showed some lovely touches. Lewis Potter scored a great goal and would be the obvious choice for the notebook this week, he is going onto bigger and better things for sure with West Ham interested. As you all know I don't always go for the obvious....... (Mitrovic, Cough Cough)

However, it was the Tigers defence that really impressed. The goalkeeper Ingram was solid and the central defenders excellent, No.5 Alfie Jones played well and even got forward at times but...
Nobby's Choice No.4 Jacob Greaves didn't put a foot wrong and in particular completely nullified the threat of Balogun with timely interceptions and blocks. He also stood up to the different threat of Coburn at the end.

Jacob Greaves, age 21 and born in Cottingham, a suburb of Hull . Only made his senior debut in Sept 20 after spending time on loan at Cheltenham. Already made 79 apps for Hull and signed a 3 year contract in 2020.

Definitely one for the future and 3 years younger than Dael Fry, Jacob Greaves he's in the famous Notebook 📖✍️

What about Joe Lumley?

I've hoofed this in case some of my fans missed it last night...
Thanks 👍
I missed it cheers! I liked the look of Brandon Fleming.. he stood out for me. I think maybe when I first saw the name on the back of his shirt I was like “pah! you wish mate!”

But then I watched him and I was like.. well fair enough. Don’t know anything about the guy never seen him before. If I had to pinch one of their players he’d be the one I’d go for (based on yesterday’s performance)

Did well against Tav, I think they had a few good performances on the day 👍
