Nobby's Notebook - Fulham 📖✍️

Heyup sports fans and welcome to Nobby's Notebook. I hope you've all dried out from last night ? It certainly was a wet one walking home to Park End for yours truly. 🌧️

Onto the game, the Boro defensive lineup was quite surprising and for once without our talisman Jones !! Chris Wilder's plan appeared to be to frustrate Fulham and hit them on the break and a tactic that seemed to be working up until the goal. I guess it's easy to say in hindsight that we should have selected more attacking wing back options from the start, but we would all have been happy with a 0-0 let's be honest....

On the other hand, perhaps we should really have been more offensive from the off. After all we did get a 1-1 draw away from home v Fulham on the opening day of the season under our previous manager (Neil) 👍

Fulham are clearly a good side and have goalscoring options throughout. Harry Wilson looked lively and Tim Ream solid at the back. I like Rodak the goalkeeper while Kebano's introduction saw a ripple of applause.

However, I can't look any further than the Fulham goalscorer for my notebook choice this week guys.

Nobby's Choice No 9 Aleksandar Mitrovic.

Wow !!! What a goalscoring record the big Serb has this season. 38 goals in 37 appearances AND 7 assists. That's a goal every 85 minutes, truly incredible. And to think he spent most of last season on the bench when Fulham were struggling for goals in the Premier League. Strong, great in the air and a top goalscorer. Still only 27 with 44 goals in 71 apps for Serbia. The only thing blotting his copybook is his 3 year stint with Newcastle United 🤣 Dael Fry kept Harry Kane and Ronaldo quiet but could prevent Mitro from notching !

BREAKING NEWS....Several posters have messaged me asking if Nobby's Notebook will be continuing next season. I can exclusively reveal to all you early birds THAT IT WILL 👍Something for us all to look forward to....🎉

Aleksandar Mitrovic. He's in the famous Notebook 📖✍️
Thanks 👍

Wow mitrovic really sticking your neck out there with that one.
I know kid it's an obvious choice but you just can't ignore his record, he's a handful and nobody else really stood out for me...
I would be interested to know who you would choose ??

Carvalho was their stand out for me.
Sorry just seen your choice. Carvalho had some nice touches but didn't really influence the game for me like. I see Liverpool are sniffing but he just didn't stand out. I guess you don't have my experience or really know sort of things I'm looking at though👍

Good to hear you will be carrying on Nobby. (y)

Edit: Sorry Nobby, half of that was missed off and should have read the above.

Nice write up nobby, I think mitrovic deserved the nod with Tim ream second, carvalho didn't do much for me.

Seems strange for Liverpool to let Harry Wilson go and then sign Calvalho who doesn't seem as good.... probably fake news 👍
Only because you didn't break the news yourself?

Liverpool will loan him back to Fulham in January I would expect.

Nobby, what prompted you to select record Championship goalscorer Mitrovic as your 'one to watch'?

I know it's an obvious choice and I make no apology for that.... I chose the best player on view.
I'm looking for players that can step up and play in higher leagues and in better teams and at 27 he could still have the best years ahead if him. As a scout I'm also looking at other stuff you just wouldn't understand Borofur.

Thanks 👍

‘Marek Rodák’- won the points for Fulham.

Thanks for the update kid but Rodak is already in my notebook He played against us a few years ago for Rotherham whilst on loan and single handedly kept us out in a 0-0.at the Riverside.
I urged the club to sign him instead of Bettinelli as he was obvs the better if the 2 and he's still only 25.
We keep pushing...
Thanks 👍
