No Time To Die

Well, having now watched and enjoyed it, I think the next Bond movie may well be set in the past and recount his early career. That would facilitate a younger actor taking the role and give the possibility of filling out his origin story, pre-007.

Had no idea about the spoiler function on here until I clicked it in Teaciders post above 👍
My thoughts below

Watched it last night and my wife and I came to the same conclusion - really disappointing. As someone else said above, the main baddie felt almost shoehorned in, just for the sake of having a baddie. Very little made of him then a fast and unspectacular demise.
Was just irritated by the ending, given the implications going forward, and the more that rankled with me, the more I started getting disgruntled with the whole film. The best bits (Italy and Cuba) were all done and dusted in what seemed like the first half an hour. Sad way to end the Craig Bond franchise for me. Loved Craig as Bond, loved Casino Royale, thoroughly enjoyed Skyfall, Spectre was ok and the other two were duds for me.
My Dad thought similar but my Mum thought it was brilliant so 🤷🏻‍♂️ Different strokes for different folks innit, and that‘s a good thing.

I've no issues with things ending so to speak and as said above, the 5 movie arc worked well for me, much like Nolan's Batman trilogy.
If the next Bond goes along the same lines then I'll be happy with that.
Having thought a little more about it, I'd say NTTD was pretty much a tribute to the franchise with all of the nods to previous movies. From the use of the score, the iconic vehicles and the little visual cues like the portraits of the various M's and the shot of Bond in the tunnel mimicking the classic intro. It's just another thing that makes me think that we'll see a rebooted Bond next outing.

I enjoyed it for what it was, it was not perfect but it entertained me for most of the outing despite it being overlong. I liked Daniel Craig for the grittiness he brought to the character - it softened with age but then don't we all, so there is that human element too.

I’d agree that the last line says the next movie is a reboot – a young, raw version of 007.

Goodbye Mr Bond.

Skyfall & A View To A Kill are my two favourite Bond films. Completely different films altogether. One in the cartoon slapstick phase the other a moody thriller. The beauty of Bond in my opinion.

Its like Tim Burtons Batman and Chris Nolan’s Dark Knight being brilliant films, completely different but about the same character.

Most far fetched thing was the WE department on an RN warship getting that many missiles off ;)
The most far fetched part of the film was the 40,000 bullets that were fired at Bond throughout the film, none of which killed him or indeed stopped him climbing up steps.
