That's the situation when we play without Howson and Jones. If we are looking to freshen the squad in this transfer window, then we need to find back up for these two players.

Not sure I’d agree on the howson point - Hackney Barlaser and O’Brien have all been proven to have drive from midfield. Jones is someone we haven’t really got an alternative for. Possibly Silvera on paper.

I don't see anyone pulling the team up the pitch with him as Howson does.

Howson is hugely important and influential.. no sign of anyone similar or near to him in this respect. WHAT A GUY!

We've been looking for a longterm Howson replacement for 3 years. Yet at 35 he's still our best CM. That says so much about him
.
That said we've had some really good recruitment recently. So surprised we've still not addressed or got right a long term option who's 'as good' or better. It will be interesting to see how O'Brien does when fit. We've only really seen him as a LB.
I have absolutely no doubt Howson will get another year. Yet it's an area that's going to need seriously looking at in the summer.

We'll probably go 3-5-2 again on Tuesday so I'm sure Forss will be on the RWB role. O'Brien is a hell of a weapon for us. I'm hoping he starts regardless if Howson is fit. Chelsea is going to be an absolute onslaught...I don't think Howson's legs will cope

So as a Boro fan, will Hugill be sat watching the game on Tues night, reflecting on the potential influence he has had on it?
Hugill's blatent, off the ball push, in front of the referee. That referee and lino were poor all game. The lino made one decision all game, and he was wrong on that.

I think we will play 4-5-1 on Tuesday with 3 central midfielders , Hackey, Howson and Barlaser as we have no alternative for RWB if jones is out because
