Ninja Air Fryer

I
There is a good deal on one on Amazon today, down to £170 from £220.

I am a useless cook and quite a lazy one, too.

If you own one, would you recommend it? I'd like to cook ordinary things with it to save me the bother.
I bought the missus one and she always uses it, she says its brilliant and its economical as she doesn't use the oven hardly anymore.

Yes, people will say they are a gimmick but I've been using them for 2 years now and I've used my oven less than 10 times in that time I would say and that's been for baking bread or heating up something large

It is basically a fan oven, but it will preheat almost instantly; cook about 20% faster than an oven and food will be crispier because of smaller space and air circulation, even more so if you give things a very light spray of oil. Will use less energy to run as well

If it goes in an oven it can go in an air fryer. Get the biggest one you can and dual ones are handy as you can time things to finish at same time or cook at different temps. Some models do dehydration, slow cooking; pressure cooking etc

More and more shops are putting air fryer instructions on the packaging but I just use the same temp as fan oven and reduce cooking time by 20%

TikTok and Pinterest are stuffed with recipe ideas and great things to make

They're brilliant. So many cooking options on the Max. Quicker cooking times than a conventional oven and also has pressure and slow cooking. Makes the best spaghetti bol ever if you follow the recipe. Thousands of recipes available on line. Best bit of cooking kit I've ever owned

One of the best things I've been making lately is air fried gnocchi with a spice mix and a few sprays of oil. I love gnocchi but don't think I'll ever boil it & add sauce ever again 😂

Burgers made at home are similarly immense, mine has a grill function which heats from underneath and I love it

Some pork belly I did with some brown sugar, bourbon and some spices

Had a dual fryer for a while now and it's brilliant. I tend to only use the oven for a quick frozen pizza.

I would recommend getting some silicone trays that fit your fryer - much much easier to clean.

We've had it a while and we're still learning new things/meals/recipes etc.

Definitely worth the attention they're getting.

they are unreal. we are cooking meals in 20 minutes rather than our oven which takes 15 to warm up, 25 to cook.

the electricity savings alone are worth it

I am in a few FB groups which are great for recipes

Brilliant kit, another sceptic until i bought one , greener as you use less power, cooks faster , and the winner is you can just cut a spud into chips without oil and they are done after 15 minutes
and healthy , yes, chips aqre healthy if you cook them without any oil

I also find they're a winner for re-heating stuff. So much nicer than if it was done in a microwave. So much easier than in an oven. Ninja owner here.

I have the 9-1

Thinking of getting the smoker. Anybody got one?
It'll do a job but it's not a smoker

It's literally an air fryer with a tiny pellet tray. You have to cook low and slow to smoke and that would need a lot of pellets, so what you'll get instead is a tiny bit of smoke flavour, but cooked with an air fryer

The capacity is basically the same as the indoor version which I have, so any more than like 4 burgers or whatever and you're batch cooking - fine if cooking quickly, but then you might as well use the indoor air fryer

If cooking slowly, limited again by capacity. Can't stress enough how small the pellet tray actually is

For £349 I don't think it offers enough. If you already have an air fryer, I'd say you want a charcoal bbq or an actual pellet grill or smoker, you'll do far better food on them

Why does it have to be Ninja then ? If you not that interested in it all then any air fryer will do. Ninja is a top player at top prices. They are all just a heating element a fan and a timer. I'm a fan (pun intended) of mine in what it can do , as stated above by all, but it's just a plain old no brand for £38 B&M I think , but does all that's needed.

Going to finally take the leap on Prime day.

Looking at a 3.8L as it's likely my wife won't use it. How do you handle diff cooking times for multiple items (assume you cook then let them "rest"?)

Not sure I can justify the price of the dual when I'm not 100% convinced how much use it will get (yet).

We have the 15 in 1 ninja. It is great and is time saving. With anything, the more you use and experiment with it the more useful it can become. I am sure other brands will be as useful.

You basically will have to cook it then keep warm in oven or rest if meat

Honestly mate if you cook, save yourself the future larger purchases and get the dual. I ran two air fryers for a while.

They've just released one with a removable diving tray so can do larger things or split into 2

But 3.8L isn't that large capacity

If you use an oven; you will use an air fryer, cheaper, crispier, taste better, after to cook, the only reason to stop you is capacity.

As above ninja an alright brand but if you want to pay less, look at something like Cosori, tefal or tower

If it's the ninja max grill you're looking at , it's a decent machine but same as mine the air fry basket is not huge

You can definitely get a non-Ninja airfryer. There is way better value out there although everyone says good stuff about the Ninja ones. The Gourmia one for Costco is a single basket, but good size, and it's about £50 and gets excellent reviews. If you are going budget that would be a better bet than the B&M ones.

I really don't see the point in the smoker other than just being another gadget Ninja can sell. There are far better ways of smoking food for that price.

Bang on, in a lot of the fb groups you see people getting brand madness - ninja knives, ninja toaster, ninja kettle etc
