Nigel Gibb RIP

So sad to hear this news of Nigel’s later years and passing.
I too first encountered him back in the 90’s on the Tim Lloyd’s Boro Mailing List where he was a special and likeable contributor indeed.
Living in 🇨🇦 we were unable to attend many Boro matches over the years but whenever we did we usually had the pleasure of running into Nigel with his 🍷 at the away pre-match pub sessions we attended.
Ironopolis, Nigel Gibb, Yarm was proud, and deservedly so, of his Boro record-keeping and his travels and spectacular attendance record at all those away matches!
RIP good friend, we will miss you.

Yes that's same Robbo, passed a couple of years ago now.
Larger than life character to say the least.
Sadly missed.
RIP

Hopefully there should be a tribute to Nigel in the next matchday programme.
Am sure he would have loved this season but he was there supporting his team through thick and thin. It is fitting though that Nigel will be fondly remembered by supporters at a sell out game.

Glad hes getting a funeral that people can attend , it would been a tradedgy to have been buried alone

Hopeful the club will acknowledge Nigel in some way.

Given his support for the club over the years I think it would be very fitting.

I have been asked to post information on the funeral arrangements on here, just to let as many people as know possible.

Nigel's funeral will be on Thursday May 18th, 10.45 at St. Hilda's Chapel at Teesside Crematorium.

Also been asked if those attending could wear something red.

I remember meeting Nigel in a pub in Southampton before a game in the late 90s. Such a down to earth charming guy with incredible Boro knowledge. Privileged to have met him.

Just to underline again Nigel Gibb's funeral will be on Thursday May 18th, 10.45 at St. Hilda's Chapel at Teesside Crematorium.

A reminder that Nigel Gibb's funeral is scheduled for tomorrow..

A late reminder about the funeral of Nigel Gibb, the man that clocked up 1000 away games following Boro away at Leicester City back in 2013. He would obviously have been to many more home games in that period also.

Nigel's funeral will be on Thursday May 18th, 10.45 at St. Hilda's Chapel at Teesside Crematorium. His wake will follow on at the Riverside afterwards where he will rightly be honoured as an incredible supporter of Middlesbrough FC.

Lenny, Gordon and the Club (and a few others whose name I don’t know) did a wonderful job honouring Nigel and a very good turn out for him. Thanks to Littlefella67 for posting the original message too.

Very poignant day.

Good to meet you and so thankful we all managed to play some part in giving an appropriate and dignified send off to a phenomenal fan and top guy.
Wonderful to hear so many stories about Nigel's 50+ years watching the Boro. I think he would have been delighted by his Van McCoy The Hustle finale followed by a Riverside wake.
